Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.
The following is a simple step-by-step plan of how to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord.
1. Did you know that God loves you and wants to forgive you?
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
2. Did you know that God has a plan for your life?
“I have come that they (you) may have life, and that they (you) may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10b).
3. Did you know…
That because of our sin, we are separated from God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
That the penalty for our sin is death.
“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).
The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
If we repent of our sin, confess Jesus as Lord and trust Him as our Savior, we will be saved from the penalty of our sins.
“For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
“…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9,10).
Father God,
I believe that Jesus died for my sin. In this moment I realize that I am in need of a Savior. Please forgive me, not because I deserve to be forgiven, but because of what Jesus did in my place. Here and now, I accept Jesus into my heart as Savior and Lord. Come and live in me, and make me into the person you want me to be. Amen.
